Sophie
Hollins and Daniela Schwark met in 2004
and began performing
together as the Soda
Guitar Duo in
2006.
Sophie
(27) was born
in
Nottingham and currently lives in Leeds.She
began playing guitar at the age of 7, and had lessons with Catherine
Dickinson at the Spanish Guitar Centre in Nottingham from the age
of
11. She went on to study music at the University of Leeds, and
graduated with a First Class Honours (BMus) in 2003.
Thoughout her studies Sophie has had lessons with many distinguished
guitarists in England and The Netherlands, including Nicola Hall,
Graham
Wade, Luigi Palumbo and Louis Ignatius Gall. She then began teaching
in The Netherlands and more recently in Leeds.
Daniela
(25) was born in Apelern near Hannover (Northern Germany).
She started playing the guitar at the age of 12, but discovered the
classical guitar at the age of 19. In 2005 she completed her studies
in
Elementary Music Education and began teaching groups of children
aged 2-16 and adults.
Daniela then furthered her studies on the guitar with Hans-Michael
Koch
in Hannover and also with Louis Ignatius Gall in The Netherlands.
She
recently graduated in Classical Guitar Teaching and Performance Studies
from the Hochschule fuer Musik und Theater (Hannover).
